October has been a great month for meal preparation. I cooked twice as often and are starting to get into a rhythm of food acquisition, preparation, and consumption. I normally cook about 4 meals a week, taking leftovers for lunch to work the following day. I also have a rotating menu of 3 meals that are nice and nutritous.

pesto chicken, gnocchi, and roasted vegetables
lamb shoulder, mashed potatoes or pierogies, and green beans
smoked salmon, cream cheese, rice, and nori

I feel pride for raising my activity levels twice this year (300 in May and then 400 in October). It feels good to have more control over my life, and I’m glad the things on my list are valuable tasks to accomplish and continue to have positive effects.

I’ve got good plans for Thanksgiving, and have already had one family event that was not too stressful. I’ll be continuing to work on meal prepping this month, and hopefully by the end of the year it will be cemented as a good routine. Perhaps we can make seasonal meals that are more suited for the weather, but we’ll see.

My wife and I have assembled a list of ~50 non-recurring tasks that must be completed for the house, and I look forward to chipping away at those as the months go by. The current plan is to tackle one task per week, although this week we may not do so as we’ll have friends coming over and will be occupied cleaning the house and preparing for their arrival.

Overall, a very active month, and I’m very proud of myself. There was also more overstimulation in October compared to September, so I’m curious to see what the results will be in November. Will the activity levels stabilize, decrease, or jump again? I’m feeling very successful as we approach the end of the year, and very excited to graph the results of this year’s State of the Year.
