Exploration 24: Plans for 2026

The largest current struggle feels dietary. Its been difficult to manage cravings and portion sizes since getting off the medication, but its been 2 months off now and I’m pleased to say I’m still under 200lbs, which was a goal of mine. I think recommitting to healthy diet is going to be a sustained process this year, as I don’t expect these cravings to go away any time soon.

Job advancement is another big goal. Ideally I’d like to find a new job by the end of spring, but at the very minimum by the end of this year. I’m going to be trying to submit applications twice a week, on my work from home days, and hopefully that puts out enough volume to get things moving on that front.

Then we’ve got home maintenance, oh boy what a doozy. I’m very averse to it at the moment, but I’ve got a GPT assisted de-stigmatizing process I’ll be working through over the next several weeks, which breaks things down into attainable chunks. The key according to this process is to avoid uncertainty and the finish line being out of view.

We’ve also got cleaning / organization. By the end of this year I’d like to be cleaning more of the bathrooms, rotating through organizing and tidying each room of the house, have more assigned storage laid out, etc. This has the potential of going the laundry route, and I’m cautiously optimistic about it.

Then we’ve got computer / tech study, including but not limited to coding, tech, networking, and gaming. I have been lucky to have learned a lot at my present job, but I want to continue growing my knowledge base so I can understand more of my career environment. This will probably be a recurring theme, as I’ve had this goal on my plate several years now with marginal results.

We’ve also got meditation. Activity charts from last year show a strong link between mediation and positive feelings early in the year, and it would be good to build a solid meditation routine as well. Not essential, since my mood has been pretty positive lately regardless, but still beneficial.

Finally we’ve got exercise. We like it, we’re sorted out on bodyweight stuff, we’re gonna do that and maybe some cardio by the end of this year. Its important to exercise in your 30s. I’d like to live a long time so lets help the body get there.

That’s all for now folks. Happy New Year!
