Journal 17 – Where are we going?

As stress comes in and out of our lives, I feel like its important to remain grounded in the moment, and remember that striving for perfection in all things does not always lead to positive results. We live in a world where we must accept a variety of circumstances, and autism doesn’t have a great time with that historically. I feel a need to create stability, and then elevate that stability, but sometimes the efforts to elevate can hurt the efforts to stabilize.

We need to listen to the people around us. Are people telling us we lead good lives? Then we should celebrate that. Are people telling us things that don’t seem to line up with our own worldview? We should take into account that we’re not always right all the time, and more than that, its not always the most important goal to be right all the time. What a life.

Happiness is here around us, if we are prepared to see it. The little things of life are all beautiful, and some are painful, but that’s what sharing experiences with other people is all about.

Hope this all makes sense one day, but perhaps that’s just not the goal. Perhaps the goal is to build something greater than ourselves, and in the process relinquish our own control of it.
